I took Jeremy (JerV3) to a couple of my spots yesterday and we did pretty good on buttons with 23 between the two of us. My best was this early navy button. I have never dug one of these before. The backmark is A. W. Spies - For Sea Service. I also dug an early flower button (1790s), an 1869 Indian, and some other flat buttons. Most of what we got was from the same spot where I dug an eagle on a cannon artillery button a couple weeks ago. Jeremy called me last night and said one of his buttons turned out to have a bugle and 13 stars. Sounds like he got a Rifleman's button!

Hi Nick, wow you dug this post out of the archives! At the time of this post I was using a Fisher F75. I have been using the XP Deus for about 3 years now and I love it. I bought the AT Gold for water hunting, but soon found out that water hunting wasn't my cup of tea and I really didn't care for it as a land machine. Ended up selling it to my brother.
