Got out yesterday evening for a quick hour of detecting. Unfortunately I found almost nothing, besides one lonely wheat cent with the date completely worn off. Also this little hinge-like piece, branded with the Ford logo and the words "A-20 USA." Rang up 20-21 on the Nox; I thought it was a broken piece of sterling when I dug it, but after cleaning, it's clearly not. Anyway, a Google search was not productive, so I wonder if anyone knows exactly what part (or part of a part) this might be?

Looks like an electrical connector for a Model T Commutator harness. Would likely have been used on many Ford models and for 15 or 20 years.

Charlie nailed it. 1909-1927 Model T timer (commutator) wiring lug. The lugs were crimped then soldered to the wire back in the day like your find. Most are just crimped on modern reproductions. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1617934399.074539.jpg

Hello, was a car mechanic for years. The above comments are right on. Its a wire connector. The A-20 may indicate the wire size

Cool historical find. That was back when all the parts were marked Ford. Now car parts are marked China, or Mexico. Look around there may be more?
