Dug some real deep coins with equinox in 4khz!

So I have been doing more testing of the 4khz frequency on the equinox. The more I use it the more I love it. It really opened up this old park that was starting to dry up. I found 5 wheats and this barber quarter all in an area I have gridded recently and many others have hunted. They were all around 7 inches or deeper. Many where around 10 inches in very dry soil as well!

Nice digs. I might have to give that frequency another try. I used it, but seemed to be getting a lot of high tone chirping on unfavorable targets. Glad you had success.

Very nice Barber quarter. I haven't had that much luck yet with the 4kHz but plan on keep trying.

I noticed the same kind of falsing. I have only played with the 4kz and havent given it a real go yet.

Yes it will false a lot on iron. I found that if I hunt in multi frequency and all metal mode and find any blip of high tone and vdi then switch to 4khz set on my user profile to check target to confirm a good high tone and vdi I nearly eliminate all iron and trash targets. If site is not super trashy then I can hunt in 4khz and double check good targets with multi mode looking for iron tones and numbers to verify target.

This town is in a river valley so the soil is mostly sand. Which is great for digging but also causes coins to go really deep. I think I had most settings in beginning of video but I am happy to share any others as well.

Great video. I have been a Minelab user now for 20 years starting with the Explorer XS. Just ordered the 800. I also have a CTX. Have you been over that area with a CTX or Deus? I'm curious if the 800 will outperform those two. Will be interested to see more of your testing videos. Thanks.

That's a great Barber quarter! I have a couple of spots where coins may have gone down deep, I'll be sure to try 4 kHz at these sites!

Thanks! I sold my CTX before I ever hunted this area. I am sure others have though. I ran my equinox over other areas I had pounded with CTX and Etrac and found lots of coins. I was not an expert with the CTX by any means but I was pretty proficient with my Etrac. I sold both not long after my first hunt with equinox. I don't regret it one bit. In my opinion the equinox will find anything a CTX would and it's lighter and easier to use. I have never used a deus so I cannot compare it's abilities.
