My wife and I found a few bottles in the woods behind our house. We are in eastern CT. I am wondering if anyone has any info they can share about them. Here are pictures of one of them. The glass is slightly colored, and it says WARRANTED 28 OZ FLASK.

Thanks in advance, I am always very impressed with the knowledge that gets shared in these posts!

Common pre-prohibition whiskey flask, although that larger size is not found as often as the smaller ones. Originally clear, the Manganese in the glass captures ultraviolet rays from the sun over time and gives the bottle a purple tint.

The longer it's exposed to the sun the darker purple it will turn.

cool finds you know people were back there probobly coins ect

Nice finds. Congrats

Nice bottle finds. I agree with Tommy. If you found bottles, people were there and may have dropped coins or other items. I'd get back there with your detector soon.

Great finds.:icon_thumright:
