Went to my dump bank today. I always check the hopper to take the garbage that people leave before I dump my coins. I have found 22 cal shells, eye brow studs, BB's, toe rings, pills, batteries, earrings to name a few. The person before left 10 Ikes in the machine for me.

someone please explain this dump bank thing to me as I have no idea..... is this some coin machine you dump change and cash deposits into that isnt really a staffed bank branch?

A dump bank is a bank you only use to deposit your searched coins while your coin roll hunting. you use a dump bank so you don't pick up the same coins you dropped off

then explain the machine and the hopper

then explain the machine and the hopper

Some banks have coin counting machines that you dump your coins in and get a receipt that you then exchange for cash. Much easier then rerolling.

That is really funny how someone could leave Ike's behind like that. I remember someone's post about finding an Ike in the trash, next to coinstar. I always check the hopper to but haven't found anything good yet. Tellers say ammo is a common find in the hopper. Crazy.

rumor has it, that ikes devistate coin counting machines, infact I read a post before where an IKE broke, jammed, and ruined a coin counting machine. if you ever get cut-off from a coin machine, or if there is a fee, drop a few ikes in there to teach um a lesson.

Lmao nice 50, I needed that laugh!

50Cent. It's rather funny that you mentioned that Ikes damage the machines. 1 of the Ikes was stuck between 2 parts of the counter and I had to go out to my vehicle and get some tools to help them teller dislodge it. While we were working on it I saw all the "junk" that was in the reject bin. Sure wish I could empty that for them.

Machines near me don't take Ikes for that very reason

Their are large signs that say "No ikes"

they neglect to mention peace, morgan, or st gaudens....

Hmmmm. Might be the reason behind the question at the casino last night as to whether there were any Ikes in the mix. She didn't say dollars, she said Ikes specifically. I had wondered at the time.....

you dump at a casino or were you just playing there?

Teller gave me two Ikes from the reject bin last week when the machine was full.... For some reason I really like keeping those things, despite having no real value over face... Must just be one of those things I guess.... I have almost 3 full rolls now found in the wild... my goal is $100

I find at least one Ike a week jingling around in the coin machine.
