duhh do u think i will like this machine ? got th e trac friday.due to prev promises to the wife was only able to play w it a little. i had forgotten saturday was the all town wide garage sales.so i went to that,during which i discovered a bargain vehicle to purchase. time to test drive check it out get it here sign papers make sure title is good all takes time.managed a short hunt at the end of sat and got a merc.my first silver coin in years.however it was found with the silver u max.i wasnt ready to try the minelab yet .i was kinda mad at myself saying wow i kinda blew it. i wish i had been using the e trac then i coulda said my first hunt i found a silver coin. oh well i was just glad to find it.also the e trac came w only a quarter charge on the battery.they want u to put it down for 18 hours the first time.so this morn wife hits me with ,this is the last day of the prairie festival.oh jeez.its supposed to rain later we gotta go early.nooooo.so we get there and to my great delight the festival is over.most of the carnival is dissembled.soooo now i coulda killed myself the e trac is at home.but faithful silver umax was with.well honey i brought u here and nothings going on.might as well detect nothing else to do. heh heh. so couple hours brought 1.60 in modern and a kiddie sherriff badge. so HOME after dinner now FINALLY IM GONNA PLAY W MY ETRAC AND NOTHING IS GONNA STOP ME !!! I HAD BEEN ABLE to spend a half hour with the manual late night so i had a better idea what to do. minelab has a quickstart inside the front cover. power on ,noise cancel and hunt. only later when u read the noise cancel directions does it mention u need to hold the coil a foot off the ground and absolutely still for 30 seconds when pressing the noise cancel button,for the channel to load. oops minelab thats an obvious boner becuz for the newbie erratic operation insues. so im gonna test her using the most basic coin mode. side yard just outside the door is obv place because i have pounded it using my other four machines comparison testing them etc. probly nothing to find there ill take some test objects. ok and im also getting the hang on pinpointing a little. now lets see. hmm a signal. clear medium shows at deepest level icon. turn on silver umax with 10x12 coil it sez nothings there.turn down discim.all metal? still nothing.whaaaa? ok lets start digging. in my own yard i can dig as large of holes as i need. hmmm holes a foot deep nothing must be a false.well still signal.dig again nothing,,whaaa? at 2 feet yes 2 feet i got an early beer can aluminum end.from early can with steel body completely rusted away. but dear etrac u told the truth there wassssssss metal there. in air test it would signal at 2 and a half feet. the tesoro will not even signal a horseshoe in all metal outside 2.5 feet.whoa some kinda wonderful excitement.whatta machine.after couple more junk finds a nice flutey mid hi signal.not quite coin range. WELL THE FIRST KEEPER FIND FOR E TRAC was A 10K GOLD BAND. NO IM NOT KIDDING FOUND IN MY OWN YARD .RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DETECTOR TEST AREA WHERE NONE OF MY OTHER MACHINES COULD FIND IT. I HAVE SPENT MANY HOURS TEST MY OTHER 4 MACHINES ONE AGAINST THE OTHER AND EVEN PLAnTING MAnY TEST TARGETS there WHEN THE WEATHER WAS BAD AND I COULDNT GET OUT. YESS ALL CAPS IM SHOUTING. ok calm down .this ETRAC ONE HELL OF A MACHINE I CANT BELIEVE IT.MAKES MY OTHER DETECTORS LOOK SICK. I AM CONVERTED TO MINELAB FOR SHURE. unpaid testimonial and all true.thank u MINELAB

Scrounger waaaay cool I am sooo hapy for you gold ring wow ! That new machine is great! Cant wait to see you in action with it only 2 weeks! Just goes to show no place is hunted out, just need to use a E-trak !
