While the sandy soil no doubt helped the button survive so well, I believe that the high quality British manufacturing technique played a role.Your ground seems fairly similar to mine how it corrodes relics, so I can tell you getting that green patina - gilt combination doesn't happen often, and when it does it's not usually on anything significant. That said, I have had the green and gold lightning strike once!![]()
