Pip, scariest time of my life a few years back during a power outage just after sunset. Kids all over the neighborhood, no PSP's, XBoxes, PC's, MTV, etc... It was like an army of four foot tall roaches scurrying around the block. We've never seen that many kids in daylight, let alone after dark. An army of unfocused, undisciplined and poorly directed hobbits on individual and incongruent parade routes clustering where they collided trying to determine if friend or foe had been met.

It was an exercise in true freedom, the kind not governed by reason but rather chaos. Almost looked like the Democratic Convention.

Our neighbor had a huge one above his garage until one of those 60 mph gusting days took those whirling blades of death and deposited them through the lawyer's house' sidewall. Wonder why he never replaced it....

Hey, there's been so many fewer dead birds in his driveway since then also and it has rapidly slowed the rate on growth in his wildlife cemetery behind his house.

Here is a design that will prevent collateral damage to birds.
Also has a built in clutch to prevent over rotation and high speed wind damage.
Tested safe with wind speeds to 150 mph.
