EPA raids gold miners in chicken Alaska

When agents with the Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force surged out of the wilderness around the remote community of Chicken wearing body armor and jackets emblazoned with POLICE in big, bold letters, local placer miners didn’t quite know what to think.

Did it really take eight armed men and a squad-size display of paramilitary force to check for dirty water? Some of the miners, who run small businesses, say they felt intimidated.
Others wonder if the actions of the agents put everyone at risk. When your family business involves collecting gold far from nowhere, unusual behavior can be taken as a sign someone might be trying to stage a robbery. How is a remote placer miner to know the people in the jackets saying POLICE really are police?
Miners suggest it might have been better all around if officials had just shown up at the door -- as they used to do -- and said they wanted to check the water.

And yet another group of armed federally backed IDIOTS thinking they can run rough shod over whom ever they want to. To me this just shows that the government is starting to be afraid of the people (as they should be) and are using tactics from WWII Germany in an effort to reverse the tide into their favor. We have to get the ones in charge that made the decisions about going in like a SWAT team and give them their walking papers. People that make those kinds of BAD DECISIONS need to be fired to prevent someone from getting killed!!!!

About 2 years ago, a couple I know that live in Wisconson told
me that every 5 to 6 months they would get a 'visit' from one
or another state or federal agency to their small farm sticking
their nose in EVERY aspect of their lives & farm.
My friends moved here to the U.S. from Poland about 12 years
ago. Can not remember their exact words, but it was to the effect
something like this.
"In our home country we knew who the bad guys were. Yes, we had
corruption; but once they checked you out, they didn't bother you"
" In general, if you weren't a criminal you could feel safe most of the
time." My friends see the America turning into a dictatorship.

The EPA seems to think that it needs to protect the environment with force apparently. This is ridiculous. I was just about to post this thread when I saw it on here already. So if LEO is going to show up in body armor with guns apparently we are going to have to mine with body armor and guns just to be able to defend ourselves? Maybe we need to invite all our friends along to provide cover? Since when is mining a wartime environment that calls for body armor and heavy weaponry.

That is how the guvment side steps the constitution to implement new laws and regs. By forming groups such as the epa. We need to fight back against this maddness.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

The point to note is the states do not need congress. In Mark Levin's book The Liberty Amendments he puts forth ten amendments that would restore our constitution.

I really don't think its going to matter who's in office, I think its just the way things are going we are going to lose more freedom no matter who we put in they just blame each side that's it their fault its this way while changing nothing. I'm not an Obama supporter I just call em like I see em and I think its a good thing when congress or any government branch can't reach a decision on something that way they can't make it worse which is what they always seem to end up doing, at least it doesn't end up worse anyway. I think a president could make a term just doing away with all the dumb laws that make criminals out of people just trying to have fun or enjoy a hobby that isn't hurting anyone, of course what fun is it to them if they can't tell everyone what they can or can't do as most know people love the power trip telling someone else what to do.

I can tell you this! That from the tactics of this raid, they are looking for a confrontation, so they will have the reason to shut the Gold Miners operations down. Someone, somewhere, has gotten a wild hair up their' wazoo and have it out for Gold prospecting and Gold Miners! Whoever it is, is more than likely going to be in the hot seat before long because there will continue to be questions about the raid and eventually some folks will lose their' jobs and give them up.

Almost made it thru the day without a dose of pi__ me off! The saying goes... if we don't revisit history we are destined to repeat it. Since California's mining IS it's history we might as well ignore it, then we'll all be dredging and blasting away mountains in no time at all.......might work, common sense and logic hasn't been working for us lately.
Note: for the gang green monitors lurking about the blasting away comment was a joke, the rest may be plausible
