Went out with the fellas to a site that I had mapped out in the middle of nowhere. Was a really good day for me.
Recovered a 1785 Nova Constellatio Crosby 3-B variety Copper Pointed Rays Large US
Also got a 1788 Vermont copper Ryder-29 variety out of the same hole.
My first colonial copper coin spill! 20181108_162830.webp20181108_173245.webp20181108_173404.webp20181109_095458.webp20181109_095551.webp

What great finds! And thank you for sharing with us. :)

Wow!! Those are 2 very rare colonial coins in amazing shape! I vote banner!

Great spill. And just to beat a dead horse, the detail on that Nova is spectacular! Well done Jon.

Absolutely amazing rare finds and Banner worthy in my opinion, so I voted Banner for the finds. You should post pics of both the Obverse and Reverse of the Vermont Copper along side of the Nova Constellatio.
I just did on your recommendation. Thank you

You’ll be hard pressed to find more desirable colonial coppers than those beauties! The scarcity coupled with that condition is like hitting the detecting jackpot. I’ve only had a couple of sites with ground conditions that spit out coppers in that condition. The trick is finding the site, good ground conditions and of course it has to actually have coins in the ground. Hope you have continued good luck

You guys back in New England make me jealous.

Sweet!! Congrats!!

Whoa. That Nova is a beauty, as well as the others. Very kind soil, rare coins in rare dug condition, I'm voting banner

Those are 2 firsts for my eyes and in excellent shape. Congrats on 2 great saves.
