Epic Easter Hunt… AKA Did I find GOLD ??

[blossom]

So after a gorgeous couple of days weeding the garden and clearing leaves… it was time to head back to the fields of dreams 😆 xx

What a day! The sun was shining and the fields had dried out beautifully! I THINK I found my first Gold….! No idea what it is… but it’s yellow… and that must mean it’s Gold! Also found an intact ring brooch AND a ring! For me that makes it the best day ever! 😍

Also buckles, musket ball, lead lump and decorative tiny bit of lead, bit of a crotal bell, complete thimble, 3 little hinges (?) a gorgeous old button, lots of other buttons, 2 Jettons, and 2 other unidentifiable coins.

Another amazing day doing what we love, out again tomorrow, but rain is forecast! xx

I'm going with rose gold since copper would be dark green.
Great post and grats, Blossom! Do let us know how it turns out and, of course, LUCK next time out!

Update: have heard back from the FLO…. “it looks like a Saxon silver-gilt dress fastener and would therefore come under the Act”…

So very excited… and will be taking it into the office next Tuesday 😆 xx

That's great news, and you'll get a good report back (eventually) on the particulars regarding the piece.
May this be the first, but not the last on a long line of reported treasures.

You made some beautiful finds and pictures! Congratulations on the gold!

Yay! Real treasure. That’s awesome! This gives you bragging rights over Dave’s dagger find , right?

It's a long process & you can speed it up a little by getting the Landowners email. (I assume the FLO has yours already) The Coroner & Treasure Clerk tend to do this now instead of hardcopy letters.
