Not me- I was in the water the whole time and managed to snag 2 Zlincons and a couple of tabs No one is going in the D....... water even though the beach is packed. The dry sand is the place to go now, at least for a while

erikk, the same goes for me to, nothing in the water here (that I have been able to find), all of my finds have been in the dry sand.

I HATE dry sand and TOT LOTS

Once the weather warms up a bit more they will be flocking to get in the water. I know further south (Naples) they are starting to go in now

Well, in the interest of keeping the board active, I found $1.28 in the dry. Two hrs in the water netted me a handful of pulltabs. Total 5.5 hrs today.

I think the sea gods need a new sacrifice to be offered. I suggest a politician.

I don't know Erikk,didn't see too many people in the water last weekend in
Naples.But did find a lot of older crudy coins in some areas,and one not
so great ring,but at least some sand has moved.Could have done better if
I had got a little more serious in my hunting,but was kinda tired.Water was
great(no wet suit) and relaxing,buy kinda murky.Looking forward to some
drop and fan hunting-like to be in and under the water more.HH Joe

No, not too many at Naples. That is where I got that ring but that is about it. Lots in water @ Laudermilk (?) but very heavily sanded and mostly just young kids. Should pick up in the summer

Hi Errik,I did skip the park,as it's hammered pretty hard.But there are usually
a lot of people that go in the water there.Have seen the trough there get
to about 8' deep at one time during the summer.Should have worked with
scuba,but didn't have time to haul all that gear.Worked an area I seldom go
to,but used to be used a lot by the Miami bunch ,especially the hispanic
crowd,and they usually had nice gold on.Thought I saw a couple of people
detecting in the water at the pier,and one tourist with a Bounty Hunter,but
not working hard at it,just playing some.Had a couple of people venture out
near me.I think they just like to see someone out there first,before coming in.
Some sand is moving,and old targets here and there,so should get better
each week,and each storm/front that cames through.Good luck and HH joe

I'M a done  deal till  summer . This  spring  break was  the  clincher  for  me .. It  SUCKED  Big  time .. no  one  in  the  water  and  no  fresh  drops  in  the  dry and the beaches packed slam full ... I don't get it ,,,,,,, frustrated to say the least .Guzz1

Hey guzz, Don't get too frustrated.Keep the fun in the hunting,enjoy the
beach and water,the finds are just a bonus for having fun,and enjoying
the out-of-doors activity.Your coil will past over the right spot soon.
Every week the beach and bottom are going to change more and more.
Find the line/area,and hunt it out.Good luck and fun hunting.Joe

I'm just cutting back to one or two days a week instead of five .. The gas cost is killing me $$$$..3.37 a gallon this morning ... what a bunch of crapola that is .. I'm go out later today maybe .....guzz

Guzz, what beaches you hunting? I saw lots of people in the water at St Pete beach and also at Tampa Municipal beach. I didn't bother wearing a wetsuit as wasn't that bad, little cool but not bad, certainly a lot warmer then the Atlantic side, but thats not hard to do.

I remember middle of last summer, water turned upside down, water temp was in the low 50's for several weeks in Daytona Beach area.

I hunt down in Sarasota / Bradenton.. I did get out twice this week first hunt,, lots of Clad and the second , 2 hours 2 pull tabs... Guzz1
