Estate sale left overs for $ 10.00

Estate sale I found this big sterling bowl I took a picture of the bottom $6.00 The gold ear rings 50 cents.... they say 14 k on the pole of the ear ring the little forks say Gorman Sterling Pat 1940 then I also have a bunch of forks and spoons that say Wm rogers with a stamp of IS not sure if they are silver or plated the earings in the other pic in my hand are sterling a few watches swiss made most likely scrap and a bunch of other stuff Im still looking through all cost me 10.00 dollars not bad for a quick stop I think the big bowl is solid sterling .Thanks for looking Tommy sorry about all the double pics lol

Great score Tommy ! The larger sterling piece is a candy compote , or nut dish - they typically have a base filled with a bees wax and plaster mix to add weight and stability to them - since they are tallish .

Nice haul there! That silver bowl is weighted, so I assume they put sand in the base or something along those lines. If you're selling it for scrap, do they crack it open and dump out the weighted material? Not sure if you buy for scrap, resale as is, or just hoard it all away

Im pretyy sure the Gorman silver pat 1940 the pile of little olive forks on the paper towel are silver and the big bowl also..Thanks for all the replies I just finished my deck and a 4 ft garden fence and moving my Daughter into her first Apt at Collage and getting ready to send my youngest next year. Great score T!! That's probably the best 10 bucks you've spent since that night with the Russian chicks and the donkeys! Lol... and of course you won't have to hide your precious metals with both girls at college... you'll have to sell them! Ha just kidding my Ann Arbor buddy, at least you're getting stuff done so when the sun shines you can go rip some silver out of the ground. Hit me up, we gotta hook up before summer ends...Scotty.

I love garage sales... that's where my love for semi precious rocks and gems started. I found rocks with their names on a display case for 50 cents. I'm infatuated with all the diversity of gems and their beauty. I also like selling stuff in yard sales... a week ago I sold 10 bucks in pop and 20 bucks in other junk I had around.
