Has anyone on here purchased the At Pro after using the Etrac ?A waterproof machine keeps calling my name but the the idea of learning a new machine doesn't sound fun .

After 5 months or so with the Etrac I am starting to get very comfortable with it .
I know some people feel the Etrac was a easy machine to learn , but for me it wasn't .
Before the Etrac I was using an MXT Pro , I picked the MXT up easily .

I hope that it will be an easy transition over to the the Garrett .

Thanks for any input

I don't have an etrac but its one of those that I'd like to ad in my arsenal since u have a more complex detector taking on the etrac shouldnt b an issue at all I bounce around between all 3, of mine (v3i,deus xp,Atpro) cuz its all about having the right tool for the job or site ur hunting

There want be any adapting other than the terrible noises you'll hear. May I dare ask why? Needing waterproof detector? RELEASE THE LIONS!

Nothing wrong with a Atpro its just another machine some like it some don't for the money it costs u can't go wrong

He already has poisoned hearing from listening to the ET. It won't be a big deal!

Let the lies & blanket statements begin!

I want to be able to hunt some creeks and lakes and not have to worry about accidentally dunking the detector.
I had a close call with the Etrac at the beach . I see the minelab being my main machine except when there's a chance of rain or water hunting .

I have both, I think the ATP was easier to learn.

It's a fine detector. Period! It might not be a specialty type detector but it is definitely a jack of all trades and it does well in almost every environment. I was a member of the AT Pro haters club before I actually owned one. I all but quit using my Spectra Vx3 & MXT Pro once I got use to it.

Just what I was hoping to hear .

Yes I remember it well feller! Pardon the pun. You were saying you hated it, not impressed, etc. and then bam the koolaid kicked in! Lol. I wasn't trying to offend you with statements on your Etrac experiences just pointing out that the features you didn't like are readily adjustable to personal tastes. Hey I was strictly a Tesoro only fan for a while myself. I still like to coin shoot tot lots with my Vaquero when I don't want to lug around the heavy Etrac. But in iron infested areas or one where I feel there are deeper targets I'm going to use the Etrac for sure. Happy Hunting.

I'll be using the Deus...good luck

Bottle caps will be the first challenge.

That should take less than min to learn with the ATP. By far the best machine I've ever used on caps!
Oh I'm sure others opinions will differ and be put down as fact!

I have two friends with atps that cussed bottle caps for a while and figured it out. I have nothing against the atp but op asked about learning it and that's the only complaint I've heard from my buddies. If you believe you can learn anything about a detector in a minute and be sure, I've got a detector to sell you that only finds gold rings.

So that your opinion not really a fact. I just bought a t2 the one thing totally different from my explorer is it likes bottle caps like all single frequency machines. I haven't used a atp myself but my friends that I hunt with and people on this and every other forum have had to address bottle caps as a problem. I under stand you love your atp but facts are facts.

Well yeah...as evident by words like "should" & "I've". Instead of words like "is" & "will".

Passed off as fact? Not all single freq VLF's are created equal. (Fact)

I haven't used a atp myself
Maybe, just maybe you shouldn't comment on them then(opinion). I know, I was ATP hater too before I ever used one (fact).

Might be true, but there is a lot out there that say just the opposite too (fact). ATP is killer on bottle caps (opinion). Tone roll is awesome whether non users & haters like to admit it or not (opinion). Once someone learns how it works, caps should be a thing of the past. See how I put the parenthesis and italics in?
The ones that can get tricky IMO are the flattened out aluminum types. Even then, the audio footprint is much bigger than a coin and should still be easily distinguished.

facts are facts.
Yeah well, don't let your "facts" get in the way of the truth!

Like I said my buddies and others had trouble with bottle caps and figured it out. Apparently you did to. Even seen that problem on the dues forum.

What's this got to do with what the op asked how it was adding a Atpro to his arsenal transitioning from an etrac
