Etrac owner thinking of adding an AT Pro to the arsenal . How hard to adapt to ?

He already has poisoned hearing from listening to the ET. It won't be a big deal!

Let the lies & blanket statements begin!

Lol. That's funny.

I actually have a harder time not digging bottle caps with the e-trac than I ever did with the ATP. With the e-trac, the aluminum bottle caps, register around a 12-38, which is right in the middle of the Coin/Penny range.

Everyones different, in there way of learning, some can learn faster then others, some have an easier time with certain things compared to others. In my opinion if ur running an etrac which from what I've seen is a Good detector with many options, so if ur planing on adding another detector, hence the Atpro yes there's a learning curve tid set ups different, tones different, there not the same machine but if u can learn u can do it, now just for say & shhhh about it if my wife can run my v3i a bit & the Atpro I'm sure someone who's got more time in understanding a detector & what its capable of will have no problem. It's just a matter of actually learning the machine

Has anyone on here purchased the At Pro after using the Etrac ?A waterproof machine keeps calling my name but the the idea of learning a new machine doesn't sound fun .

After 5 months or so with the Etrac I am starting to get very comfortable with it .
I know some people feel the Etrac was a easy machine to learn , but for me it wasn't .
Before the Etrac I was using an MXT Pro , I picked the MXT up easily .

I hope that it will be an easy transition over to the the Garrett .

Thanks for any input

I've never used anything but an ATP, it wasnt very difficult to learn so I would come to believe the learning curve for you may be a walk in the park so to speak. Oh BTW, my ATP hasnt found a single cap, but I dont hunt where they hide.

there is very little learning curve .. I found 3 silver dime's my first day with AT PRO ...I think this video will help you decide if you should get the AT pro ..in this video you will see everything I have found in one month ..some targets were 9 & 10" take a look :occasion14:

Nice job, quite the haul

My opinion is the are such different units if you start training your ears for the Garrett it will hurt you for the E-trac in the long run. Many people think they know the Minelabs extremely well, but they really don't, and there's little things to learn for years to come... well if that's a person who has the capacity to keep learning. But when you change to something so different it just takes you away from getting the the highest level you can. I base that on actual experience and knowing how to use each and how different it is to be successful with each. Of course some might disagree, but that's ok, my only goal has ever been to know the Minelab as best as possible, and I'd never own another unit, even for back up. My back ups have always been the same detector as i was using... it only makes sense! :)

Opinión nothing more nothing less
