Evening hunt with Mike-and he scores!

If any one has any information on the age range of the spoon let me know so that I can pass it on to the homeowner!



It was a good hunt for about 4-5 hours worth of digging and chasing around my son.
These pictures below are of all my finds from the hunt.
Most notable are:

Complete Tombac with intact shank! Never even seen one intact with the shank!
1860 Fattie Indian Head Penny & 1907 IHP
3 buffalo nickels and some wheaties
Knapsack J hook my 1st
Brass Mickey Mouse lock with both keepers
a handfull of flat buttons
a lead seal and a bunch if flattend out lead items?

Picture #6 has a button of question while it has no visible detail I feel as If ive seen it before of some signiifigance.?

The spoon Mike dug but I found an exact match to it and will return it to the land owner as I did the others. Upon more examination it is coin silver plated! And just a beauty. Not sure as to the age of it but I would assume that the use of coin silver would make it very early. The last Pics are of Mike' s Beautiful VA Coat he dug fresh from the pouch

It was on the hill where the old house was where there is nothing left but the chimney. Oh yeah, and the rusty iron you left us.
It was my very first signal over there so I thought, "great, this is going to be a good spot." NOT!!!
You cleaned that place out James!

That place is full of iron but I pullled 6 Ny buttons and 1 NHVM button from that site as well as some flats and a few IHP and 1 barber dime i would drive over there and hunt it over lunch about every day! Thats cool you found the IHP I couldnt buy a target in there the last few times i tried

Ohhhh! I found a spoon just like that several years ago. Ain't found one of them buttons yet tho. :P Sound like a fun huntin' trip. Beautiful place!
