Nope, no light. Just plug it in and make sure your connection is snug. Take it off the next morning and have fun all day!

I always charge mine night before I go hunting, put it on charger at night, take it off charger in morning or vice a versa depending on when I am hunting... My charge is good for about 15+ hours but that is NiHm batery.........Old battery new was good for good 12...
 

You should be able to feel the charger getting warm on the wall. I lay mine down on the carpet to charge.
After a few hours, I can feel the battery pack, it'll be a little warm too. It's almost not noticeable, but it will be a little warmer.
I had about 3 bad chargers, one right after the other, none would charge the batteries. I finally got one that worked, I could tell from the battery pack warmth. (Plus I got an electric amp/ohm ac/dc checker thingy too)
