Hi Shane, The Excalibur II is great for water and beach hunting. For land hunting, I think you would miss having the target ID information and iron mask features. The Excalibur will work for land hunting, but it becomes more of a beep and dig machine in that environment.

I have to agree, beach and saltwater hunting is fairly easy to dig but woods, parks, etc is a little harder to much harder so I use my AT Pro for land and my Garrett Mark II for beach and diving.

Have an se pro and would like to get an Excalibur for water work , does it make sense to trade the se pro and use the Excalibur for multiple-purpose or is the Excalibur only good for water use??

Hi Shane! Good talking to you a few minutes ago! As we spoke about the Minelab Excalibur II is more sensitive to gold and small items but the SE Pro is a COIN MAGNET!
