Explain to people why it’s better to detect when the ground is wet

Yes. It is conductivity, wet ground has water and wet soil is a much better electrical conductor than dry soil. If the soil is damp or wet, it is more conductive so you get better conductivity and better depth. Just like wet ground conduts electricity better.

There you go folks young and old, better chance to find something after a rain dampens the ground, betcha some didn’t know that.

Hi. Where I am its 50/50 in our Golden Triangle goldfields. We have that many mineralisation variations that some ground is better wet and some is better bone dry. One place can significantly quieten down when wet and be noisier dry. Another quiet as a mouse dry and unworkable when wet giving false signals every swing. This happens more when looking for gold but still happens somewhat for coins and relics in these areas too.

Water or moisture in the ground is always better in my experience!
