Howdy. I found this doodad this past summer and kinda forgot about it. When I first dug it I thought maybe 20th century artillery shell casing then quickly gave up on that notion. I have since posted up the video of when I found this and there is some interest in actually getting it identified. So... what do you think? It has been suggested it is the casing for a car starter and that may very well be what it is. I found it within a few yards of a road with a wide variety of old to new artifacts. It really is bluish in real life and appears to be made of some sort of pot metal. Thanks...

Update... Here is a picture of a Viet Nam and later practice bomb that I found (the dark one in the pictures, hopefully the last one as well). I guess because of its general shape I got the "shell" idea in my mind. I dunno...

Explody thingy! HAH you crack me up! :laughing7:

I can't give you a positive ID but you can eliminate it as an artillery projectile.

I put the "ex" in 'splody so as to sound a little highfalutin. I'm glad I made the right decision there :)

Okay... I'm leaning VERY strongly toward part of a submersible well pump casing. I actually had a picture of that part that looked very similar to this, but can't find it again. If I do, I'll mark it solved.

Looks like a casing of a electric motor or possibly hydraulic motor off a piece of equipment maybe?
