Explorer XS question--please advise me

Have a chance to pick up a used XS and need to know how good is it for hunting gold nuggets and will it hit the small gold?
Somebody chime in for me please.

Jim, Any detector can detect the larger gold nuggets.
The standard Explorer XS 10" coil is blind to the small gold but it can be fitted with a small coil and will detect smaller gold pieces.
However, you would be much better off using a detector designed for nugget hunting and get all those rice size bits at good depth.

sorry some how missed that its about explorer but my answer Explorer is not good and you will waist your money end time if you try too detect gold with it. except gold size coins
