Exploring more land & then back to the old.....

Spent 1 hour on a new field & gave up after very few signals, hard clay conditions & no finds.

Spent 1 hours on the next field with a Scrappy & bits:

its a 18th century Clog Clasp.

The hammered was on the first row ( first dig) after where we stopped yesterday (saying to each other that we couldn't do another run)

Awesome haul, congrats!!!

Re: Exploring more land & then back to the old.....

Nice finds and congrats on the hammered! The cannon badge above the "NORFOLK" badge, A friend found two and I think a few others were found in South Africa last week. They did an awesome week long trip at a British campsite from the Anglo Boer War, 1899-1902, many other nice finds came up as well. HH, Mike and here's a link if you are interested.

I get dehydrated every time I look at your posts, Dear Crusader (Thank Goodness you're back)
It's not that I get peed off :'( it's all the drool :tongue3:

That artillery badge is the best!
One of my grandfathers was a Colour Sergeant in the Royal Artillery, served in WW1.

Nice job Bud, what kind of buttons are those in the second picture, the ones with the horses to either side of the crest? They look alot like a Civil War button here in America.

general service army button - WWI-WWII ish. The Victorian versions have her 'crown' above the shield instead of the 'lion on crown'

Hi Cru

I will be putting some of my finds that I found on your wonderful field either today or tomorrow, almost done cleaning the objects.

BTW the lead thing on the 2nd photo I believe is a very early roman lead steelyard weight, I have found a few of them in the past. There are two kinds, looking at the photo the one on the right and the one on the left. On the left one a iron wire goes through the weight, and the right one has only (the remains) of a iron wire on the top. Can't tell on yours which one it is, can't see the other side.
