Exploring more land & then back to the old.....

Spent 1 hour on a new field & gave up after very few signals, hard clay conditions & no finds.

Spent 1 hours on the next field with a Scrappy & bits:

BTW the lead thing on the 2nd photo is a roman steelyard weight, I have found a few of them in the past.

Nice finds Crusader. I love how a Roman steelyard weight isn't worth mentioning in your original post - for most of us we'd be bouncing around the room going "Whoopee - I found a Roman steelyard weight!!!!

It may have been worth mentioning if the two iron loops were intact

I would image that the Romans threw them away when they got broken. I have never seen one with a whole piece of iron loops on it. And I just looked, I have 9x of them, none with complete loops.

I would image that the Romans threw them away when they got broken. I have never seen one with a whole piece of iron loops on it. And I just looked, I have 9x of them, none with complete loops.

Its mainly because the soil & plough eats up the loops. I have seen several complete example.

I have not been out since we searched that last field. Got to get going again, although the finds here in Holland are nothing compared to England! Just was a little tired after all the searching, and everything had to be cleaned, waxed and all the rest. So not much time... I know what you mean though about your missus! Greetings

The missusess always seem not to like that too much.

What did you do in Holland?

2) Go to a 'coffee' shop?
3) Get married?
