Extreme Detecting.....

Detected for 1.5 hours (3 man hours) in 60mph freezing winds. You know its cold when you warm up your hands under the cold water tap & you were wearing gloves.

Tried a large field which we had the bronze Age Axe from. Its massive & very little in it but we keep visiting it from time to time to find a productive area. This land was mainly wood during the Roman period & heavy clay so wasn't farmed until late Victorian times.

Its a hammered copper token used to work out taxes etc on an exchequer board. This one was probably made in Germany but were imported in vast numbers from France, Holland, etc..
