USUALLY THE SMALL ONES WERE KNOWN AS "TRAVELING" WELLS
i THINK SMALL ONES WERE ALSO USED IN YOUR ONE ROOM SCHOOL HOUSES TOO
HAD A SMALL DESK FROM AN EARLY SCHOOL HOUSE THAT HAD A SMALLER THAN USUAL ONE IN IT
MAKES SENSE - IF KIDS END UP SPILLING IT - YOU'D RATHER IT BE A SMALL ONE THAN A BIG ONE

Nice neat looking little ink well!

very cool i have never seen a conical ink so small. what does the bottom look like?

Bottom Is Blank Also. Thanks For The Replies.

Fun to see those 2 inkwells side by side! :hello2: :cat: The little one being for schools makes sense.

Had a friend years ago who made & sold quill pens for use or display, maybe a few people still do that. Andi
