Fall in Northern Oklahoma--picture heavy~~

I'm going to take a page from everyone else's book and post some pictures of Fall. Its been one of the most colorfull Falls we've had in recent years here in Oklahoma. The cottonwood, hickory nut and oak trees are beautiful right now! As well as the grasses and sumac. Vibrant colors abound! Here's some pictures my daughter took over the weekend. (I'll "reply" with more pics because I can only upload 3 at a time.)

Thanks Rusted_Iron! All the leaves have fallen since these pictures were taken last weekend. We've had lots of northerly winds and rain, so it was good while it lasted :thumbsup:

We walked right up on that buck, Mental Granny! He was standing on the other side of a brushy hill area and Josie said "Shhh!---Look...a BUCK!". He was walking away from us and never smelled us because the wind was out of the north and we came in on the south side of him. Josie climbed on top of that little hill and took these pics., she even whistled at him and he just turned around and looked at her ::)

. We watched him until he disappeared into the big bluestem.

I think sumac is one of the prettiest leaves when they turn colors. Nice buck too!

Yes, sumac is very pretty! It seems to turn before anything else does and lasts all through the Fall around here. And those bucks sure like to bed down in a sumac thicket by our house!
