IF I AM EVEN WITH MY ENEMY, THE DEBT IS PAID; BUT IF I FORGIVE IT, I OBLIGE HIM FOREVER. By: William Penn

"I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer."

Benjamin Franklin --November 1766

THE ORDINARY AMERICAN WHO IS NOW FIFTY OR MORE HAS BEEN SOMEWHERE AND HAS SEEN SOMETHING. HE HAS ESCAPED THE MOST DEPLORABLE OF STATES- TO BE BORN,TO SUBSIST FOR MANY YEARS, AND THEN TO DIE WITHOUT HAVING REALLY LIVED. ... HE HAS TAKEN THE MOST TERRIFIC BATTERING, BY LONG ODDS, TO WHICH THE NATION WAS EVER SUBJECTED,AND HE HAS SURVIVED.

LIFE IS NOT A SPECTACLE OR A FEAST; IT IS A PREDICAMENY.

PIETY TO MANKIND MUST BE THREE-FOURTHS PITY. TO WORSHIP MANKIND AS IT IS WOULD BE TO DEPRIVE IT OF WHAT ALONE MAKES IT AKIN TO THE DIVINE- ITS ASPIRATIONS.

AN ARTIST IS A DREAMER CONSENTING TO DREAM OF THE ACTUAL WORLD.

ALL BEAUTIES ARE TO BE HONORED, BUT ONLY ONE IMBRACED.

THE YOUNG MAN WHO HAS NOT WEPT IS A SAVAGE, AND THE OLD MAN WHO WILL NOT LAUGH IS A FOOL.

To the monitor that deleated the N word. I am bohemian and bohonk is a derogitory form of the word. If I would have Quoted the expression as," there's a bohonk in the woodpile " would you accept that?

With over 900 posts I would think that you would know what is acceptable and what isn't .

The "Filter" deleted the N word.
IF It hadn't, it would have been there till We received a Report,
or till Now as I Just now came accross this post.
& I would have replaced it with :
[mod]TERMS OF USE VIOLATION[/mod]

Although I Personally have no Problem
with any word. (I am not aware of
anyone shrivelling up & Dying, or Going to
Hell because they Uttered or Heard any word)
There is still such a thing as Common decency
in Public.

& As you know the N word can be used not just
as an Example or part of a Sentence.
it can also be used as an Attack.
and many people find the word inappropriate.
plus I'd say many who don't have a problem with it,
will pretend they
have a problem with it in public.

Here's your Quote :
There is no such thing as a dirty word. Nor is there a word so powerful, that it's going to send the listener to the lake of fire upon hearing it.
-- Frank Zappa

Jeff: I got to hand it to you, that was an excellent reply. It explained how that part of the censor system works. You also dug up an excellent quote. My only question is why does the "FILTER" discriminate? It appears to only protect Blacks and Japanese in plural. It ignored the derogatory term for Bohemians. Would it remove spic or mic or any of the others?
