Mr. Carl Sandberg's definition of the word "EXPERT".

An expert is a fool who's a long way from home.

A note to the person who quoted a comment concerning Phillip Nolan, "The Man Without a Country". That person never existed. That Phillip Nolan was a fictious character in a novel. HOWEVER, there was a real "Phillip Nolan" who was a lady's man and a rogue who lived in the Natchez, Mississippi area and made frequent trips into the Spanish territory of Louisiana and Texas to "round up " horses and cattle to bring back and sell through Natchez and points beyond. He was ambushed on one trip to Texas and his body never returned to Natchez. It's probable that this Phillip Nolan never even SAW the ocean.

This one's for OT
It was the schooner Hesperus,
That sailed the wintery sea;
And the skipper had taken his little daughter,
To bear him company.

And fast through the midnight dark and dreary,
Through the whistling sleet and snow,
Like a sheeted ghost,the vessel swept,
Towards the reef of Norman's Woe.

Such was the wreck of the Hesperus,
In the midnight and the snow!
Christ save us all from a death like this,
on the reef of Norman's Woe!
