At my mothers today, the house I mostly grew up in after 25 minutes in one hole out popped a 1931 buffalo nickel. the house is about 120 years old or so. I have found so much silver there and other coins since starting detecting in the mid 70's it almost makes me wonder why so much is there. there is a catch though, the yard is basically a iron pit, :BangHead: cherry picking stopped long ago. the pics below are all the targets in the same hole with the nickel below, still stuff in there but its to dang humid/hot right now.
was a old jax in the hole so that's neat.

Nice digs and thanks for sharing those pictures . Must be the week for jax found my first one ever on tuesday

awesome....will you ever get it to the point your tector is quiet throughout the whole yard?

that much iron would deter a lot of people, that buff was proof that what you are doing is the right thing if you are to find anything else. love the post

Not in my lifetime, first 10 years I ran full discrimination on my fisher, still trying to figure out the explorer, but it is kinda worthless here, so much interference even with the sensitivity turned all the way down the falsing makes it unusable, been using my old classic SL, analog is nice, no emi issues.

I love finding Nickels. They get overlooked by a lot of detctorists because they don't put off that sweet sounding signal. I always feel that I found something that others believed to be junk. Nice find

Nice finds! Thanks for sharing...

Its always good finding those Buffalo Nickels !! Keep at it there must be more goodies there =)

Too bad, it wasn't a 1937 3 legged buffalo. Due to an imperfectly repaired die, it would have been well worth the dig.

buff. with a date nice good find roll

tide! never found a jax before show
