Ive found about 100 tombac buttons over the years and always love finding them as they are rarely toasted like all the other copper stuff I get. I have only now found 3 with a design on them with two of them only in the past couple days. Would be interested to see what kind of designs and numbers others are finding as I have a feeling they are quite rare at least in my area anyway. Now I need to find a complete one

I'd be interested to see how the etched those to get the fancy designs onto them!

I have found quite a few engraved ones over the years, probably close to 20. I can update with more later, but for now, here is a really nice one.

Update: Here is an old picture of some from 2010. I have found more since but don't have individual pictures

anyone that makes buttons I guess could etch them if they wanted
I was always told that the early Dutch in Ny - especially along the Hudson river
were known for etching alot of their buttons - they would trade up and down the other 13 colonies
a lot of the imports from UK were mainly plain ones - so i was told

I've dug around 30 tombacs, but only two had designs, and they were both broken. Of course!!!
