Looks broken and re-used. The bowl looks shorter than the usual clay pipes I find, also looks broken (chipped down?). The stem does not appear to be broken although I bet it was at one time and some one just smoothed it out. I have found pipes before where the stem broke and some one still smoked it, because they left teeth wear marks on the remaining stem. Just a thought and my 2 cents.

Mid 1800's ?
