Favorite find of 2014. Lets all recap

one year ago today my son and I pulled a confederate side loader and the bulk of a Hotchkiss shell out of the ground. Sadly, today was not a repeat. Only a handful of bullets and some muddy boots to show for today!

Man I forgot I'm not speaking to this Scrappy character. I don't even know who he is anymore! You and George can be best buds from now on. I'm removing my tree coin and replacing it with a merc dime lol.

Well, I was gonna post my Merc dime, but Abe just shot that down!

Ok, you're not getting a Christmas card either George!

Sorry for not adding pics. I am getting an error on the app saying I don't have permission to perform this action. I deleted the app and reinstalled and same thing??? I haven't seen this problem since the updates fixed all these issues???

I am getting the same error Turbo.

Don't knock them silvers!!! Those modern silvers keep me ticking. With those kids of mine I'm lucky if I get two seconds to rub together. I can't march off to the magical lands of Narnia or Sherwood Forest for those fancy old hammered silvers!

Well Scrappy you know it well. You had found a 1600s coin and I asked you to hold the door for me. The only find that's ever left me gasping for breath.

The closest find I have to the pine tree is a 1655-58 French Liard, and to think I was all happy and excited as happy as I would have been with a pound of gold. I think if it had been silver, 3-6 years older, and have a pine tree on the front it may have compared, but for now your pine tree sixpence makes my toasted copper look like a zincoln compared. I remember when I found that you said that you hoped to see me there soon, lol, I think that happened.

Congrats on the find of the year IMO!
Coinman123,

Coinman123,

Thanks Coinman. You have made some incredible finds and some very early ones at that. You obviously put yourself in the right areas for the early colonial stuff. So keep doing what you do and you'll continue to find those nice old keepers. One day you'll get a rare one. Or maybe a super rare one. I hope that happens. I enjoy your posts and comments

My favorite would be the day I dug this 1661 Hungarian hammered silver coin and the 1708 cut piece from a Spanish 2 reale.
