Looks good nice find!

This is the key to successful CRHing nowadays, IMHO. We can look through boxes all we want, ask for rolls at banks, check coins machines, etc., but there is no substitute for a teller who is looking out for the good stuff on your behalf. Some here have tellers who knowingly save silver for them, others (like Namster) have tellers who will call them when something interesting comes in. Well done Namster.

I have a couple banks that save all their CWRs for me (maybe just one, I found out yesterday that my vault teller is no longer at one bank). I appreciate this, but it only produces a few keepers here and there, and I never really know if the vault tellers or other tellers are still sniping the really good scores. I am not sure how people here get tellers to really, really look out for them, but if you crack that code this hobby can be really rewarding.

I have talked to a couple of tellers. They tell me it is drying up.They said that they hardly ever see the silver. One said that 20 years ago (when silver was below 5.00) it was not uncommon to see people bring in solid rolls every week.

The only major route of silver to boxes these days is through coin machines. most tellers from what I can tell snatch up all the good half and big dollar scores. Dimes sneak under their radar usually. about 1/10 around here do not look out for silver halves. That being said, I find that to be good news. that means if you have 40 banks in your extended search area 4 of them are worth stopping at rather routinely

I was looking back and saw this post and did not respond to it. Yes, the real scores are hidden from most hunters. I know several branch managers who have shut down other CRHunters and let me continue. The key is kindness and honesty, I am not kidding. I've never hidden what I am doing from them, and they have said they respected that. Others come in with their cheesy stories about "going through coins with their grandfather" etc. Most hunting has been shut shut down here on account of some jerk shorting bags, by several hundred dollars each. Yet, the managers know me and allow me to continue. I can't stress enough, this hobby is about being a people person more than it is about being a silver hound. Take this for what it's worth. HH everyone.

namster, I couldn't agree more. Although I actually do go through coins with my grandfather who is 89 years old, I don't lie to my tellers. If they don't ask about the hobby I don't sacrifice any information but if they ask, I let them know. Also if the head teller who does the ordering knows about silver and also collects, sometimes that puts you in a better situation because they will generally order more than banks who don't know. One of my pickup banks (I only stop in randomly) has a teller who will actually take her time and effort to peek inside the holes at the bottom of the box to make sure that I am not receiving solid 2013 boxes, she also lets me swap out my new boxes for old boxes and doesn't care where I get the other boxes from. honesty is key. I've run into sneaky crh'ers before, nobody likes a sneaky person.
