Naw. “King of California” was waay more interesting. Less predictable and better actors. Also not associated with Disney (which is a HUGE PLUS) in my opinion. You have to take into consideration what you are funding when you buy theater tickets, or contribute to royalties. Both are based completely on fiction either way.

Love to get a link to watch it again, but it wasn’t a huge hit.

besides Disney :tongue3:

My issue with N.T. was the Main Characters holier then thou Attitude towards the decleration :tongue3: not my thing .
imo would have been more realistic if he was in it for the money or at least for the fame.

I Personally could not picture him as a real Treasure Hunter because of his over exagerated love for a piece of paper :laughing9:
Sorry I'm not into movies with sentimental/Mushy Attitudes :coffee2:

I Myself would have Insisted on being Bankrolled with a Guaranteed Bonus If Found :skullflag:

Though I'm Glad I Watched it, Once was Enough for me :laughing7:

Nazi Germany hid gold loot as well, not sure if it was all found yet.

Sorry if it's up there Already ! I Only saw it Once , I think I liked it.
Fast Paced & Low Budget if I Remeber Right.

Have debated on Giving it another Try But Every Time I see Matthew McConaughey
on the Preview :tongue3: I back Out :laughing7:

"City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold". A real classic(?). I rewatched this recently, and it's still as silly as I remembered it. But well worth a watch to go on a treasure hunt with the legendary Jack Palance..

My favorites are probably Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Treasure Island (1950).
Honorable mentions would be Goonies, or the National Treasure movies.
What are your favorites?

Nice picks Raiders is hard to beat. For me, The Mask of Zorro is up there too it’s got that same adventure vibe with just the right mix of action and charm. Romancing the Stone is another favorite, kind of underrated these days but still super fun.

If you haven’t already, The Man Who Would Be King (1975) is worth checking out not quite the same tone as Goonies, but it’s got that epic treasure-hunting feel. Also, Sahara (the one with Matthew McConaughey) is goofy but entertaining if you're in the mood for a light adventure flick. If you're trying to track down some of these older or hard-to-find movies, https://fmovies.co/ can sometimes be useful. Just be cautious with pop-ups and don’t click anything that looks sketchy.

Vibes (1988) is a romantic adventure-comedy starring Cyndi Lauper as Sylvia, an eccentric psychic searching for a lost city of gold in the Ecuadorian Andes with Jeff Goldblum and Peter Falk.

I watched a quarter of it on TUBI awhile back, but got sidetracked. I might of seen it back in the day but don't seem to remember it.

I recently watched "The Bluff" on a recommendation, and its pretty good. It stars Karl Urban, and a badass lady pirate played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. She demonstrates many gruesome ways to dispatch the bad pirates who attack her small village to try to reclaim their stolen gold.

I've also been watching "One Piece". It's a live action drama based on the popular manga book series. It's about a wanna be pirate named Luffy who is searching for the lost treasure of Gol D. Roger because he believes finding it will make him "The king of the pirates". This show is pure fantasy and not for everyone's taste. But it is well done and entertaining.
