Went out to the woods for about 2 hours again today.
Some area's were frozen rock solid, and some areas were dig-able.
I managed 2 mercs, a 42, and a 43-D, a 37 Buffalo Nickel, and this 1834 half cent.
It looks better in person than in the photos.
I also dug a bunch of wheats and a broken silver mens ring.
The Half-cent was about 6 inches deep in frozen ground. The dirt came out in frozen chunks.
At first I thought I had a clad quarter, then I took a good look, and saw half cent.
I filled the hole back in, and jumped in my car to go home. I was done!
Hope I can still dig once more before we get more snow!
Thanks for looking! H.H.

Re: My February luck continues. 1834 Half-cent.

Some pretty nice finds there, and in a difficult digging situation. I think that I would have called it a day too if I could ever find a 1/2 cent. WTG

I found a 1834 half cent at a park, years ago. Interesting coin find, makes you wonder why they needed a half cent. Hope you find more of the unusual someday.
