I got out to a site after work today. My research pointed me to the exact area, but once I arrived there was no sign of a home...none.

I bounced around for an hour doing a sector searches, which ended up bringing me in an unexpected direction. Long story short, I think I found the site, but only had a 1/2 hour to search the area before I had to leave...but I have a few goodies to show.

I found a great watch winder. I was divided between a barrel tap key and a winder, but it was just too small to be a tap key.

Some buttons including an interesting iron/brass type.

I found a great example of a Ferdinand 1/2 reale. I've never found a Ferdinand VII before, so it was great adding this to the collection. It is my latest Spanish silver and a silver "gap filler". Now my silver gap only spans 21 yeas (1800 - 1821). In addition it's also the last year of Spanish currency from Mexico City. If you want a good read, the war of Mexican independence is a good one.

The tarnish is the type lemon juice can't remove, so I went to work with the baking soda technique. I think it came out great.

Last weekend I had a great hunt with a great group of friends. I missed most of Saturday, but Sunday I took the fellas to NJ. But before all that we had an excellent EastCoastHunter BBQ

Here are my finds from then....

And a lead button. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1492825252.114877.webp

Also found a silver bracelet that has the initials of my detecting posse - Basstards Of Bramble. Or it could just be from a guy named Bob.

Enjoy, and good hunts everyone. Work your arse off and it'll pay off.

Best always

Great collection of finds!
''Georgie borgie'' lol

I've read quite a bit about ol Geo. III ...interesting character. Cheers

Great looking real. You're still tapped into the good stuff!

Very few buttons I've even seen had an iron applied face, and they weren't from that period, nor looked anything like that one. I think something probably rusted over top of it. You should take some needle nose pliers and slowly pinch away the rust.

I'll do that. It seemed strange to me too. It's most certainly a button so I'll get on that when I crack a beer tonight.

Cheers

You guys are hunting some great land, the finds are there!

consistent great finds, continued success !

Thanks. Unfortunately a lot of it is getting grown-over now. I could barely navigate. Once those thorns start growing, it's all over

Thats a nice Silver Scrappy! Not taking away from your other finds, just love Spanish Silver. Must because it's rare to get them here. Congrats!

Another awesome hunt man :occasion14: That is one crisp real and excellent job preserving it.

You are always finding crazy cool coins man! Sweet finds!!!

Awesome finds! Congratulations!

Great finds Steve-o. The half real turned out great!

Joey, that sucker was right on the surface and rang up as a Lincoln. Sure glad I dug it. Lol.

Haha, everyone loves the Spanish! I'm surprised that, considering Spanish silver dominated world markets for hundreds of years, more didn't make it over your way. Strange.

Cheers

Thanks bud. Hopefully the Time Machine will magically transport us back so we can find a bunch. The real was unexpected and also quite nice. I wouldn't put a more than 5 years circulation on it, making it a 1820's drop.

Another couple Killer hunts Sir!! Love that Spanish silver, cleaned up Great. I've got a few Spanish silvers and all three put together don't have the detail your one coin has.
Congrats!!

I was certainly fortunate with the condition of this one. Like girlfriends, I've had a few beauties, and a few uglies. More uglies...jk

I must have missed this earlier Steve. Another outstanding hunt, and congrats on that Spanish silver. At first glance I wasn't sure of its ID as the bust is a little different than I'm used to seeing. For some reason those early 1800s examples don't seem to turn up down here (I only have one). Nice job diggin' man .....

If it's there you'll find - it as we found out firsthand this week!! Congrats!!

Funny enough, I was scratching my head too once I pulled it from the ground. We don't see many examples of Ferdinand VII up here either, but probably a lot more than you Virginia boys. Last one I recall on here was probably two years ago. But then again, I miss a lot;)

Cheers buddy

Funny how it works... I know of plenty of Spanish dug in my area, but never an 1800s Spanish.

Lol. We all had some luck this past week, but thanks. This one was very unexpected

Killer half real Steve-not to mention the KGIII and large cent. You are a relic magnet!
