Final Hunt of Vacation...Complete Shoe Buckle!

[romeo-1]

They don't come out of the ground complete very often. Found this in the same hole as I found the Brown Bess trigger guard and clasp knife. I've found that the original site had been burned as this was deep in a widespread layer of ash and crushed rock. It's a tough site to detect due to all of the slag...just about drive you crazy with the tones!

[Westfront]

Nice one! Looks like something for display after cleaning and conservation!

In twenty years of detecting I've only found one complete of that vintage so you're right, they sure don't show up too often!
Great job, you can feel proud to have racked up some decent finds when you're back to work this week

Nice heavy duty shoe buckle. It's possible that is military issue since it was made to stand up to hard use. Plus you found a trigger guard there as well.

Yup you are right, hard to find a complete on... only have 3 or 4 complete ones now and many many frames....
