Finally back to my "banner" site. 2 half cents, kgIII, over 20 buttons and more!!!

Had an awesome day at a permission I gained in January that had some spectacular finds that also landed me a banner. This will probably be my last hunt for a while. Heat wave coming through and also tall grass. Ended up with over 20 buttons, a capped bust 1806 half cent( a first ), an 1804 draped bust half cent, a king George the 3rd, a huge skeleton key and an awesome lead or pewter piece that has what looks like a man in a boat or canoe.

What a fun, fun hunt this was on a beautiful day! Thanks for looking!

man that is a terrific site, amazing group of finds!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the old buttons
very cool on the half cents as well, keep that
site in your back pocket for future hunts!!!

congrats!

Another great effort Matt. Love that big old key

Wow! Almost as good as the first time you went there! I love the coppers, the key and buttons are pretty cool too :)

Congrats on the great finds. By the way the capped bust has me slobbering like a dog. Love the patina on that one. Did I say congrats.

UNFRACKEN REAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!vanzutphen

Haven't seen you post in a while Matt, but glad to see you squeezed in a late season hunt with some nice finds. I see some unique items in that pile including a watch winder, part of a neck stock buckle, and a nice iron key. That'll be a great way to round out the season if you can't make it back out again.

I'll get a picture up in a little bit, iron patch.

Glad to see you back on that site. Nice digs. I can relate to the weather problems. Up in New England, we had nothing but snow in 2015 right into April, and now very little rain for weeks so the ground has gone too dry, which makes for poor detecting.

Great finds in awesome condition, congrats!

Very nice pile of goodies . I think that's the first cap bust half cent I have ever seen

Here they are, iron patch.

Ok, they fit with the rest. From the front they are quite similar to French Marine buttons but struck me as slightly different, so just double checking. They do sometimes turn up randomly at early sites, and of course quite often here at the early French sites, so is something I am very familiar with.

Were they two piece buttons? I've found them before.

I think the Neck stock was one of the better finds, I think I only have 2.

GREAT HUNT !!!!
