Finally broke into the 1800's UPDATE

Not that big of a deal, but while detecting a corn field where a house stood a long time ago, I got a hit and found this 1860 cent. It was my first find of anything older than the 1900's. 8)
PS, I forgot to mention I use my GPS to home in on sites that I find on old maps. Works great!

OK, now I'm excited. I took your advice and went back to the cornfield. After about an hour of swinging & digging we got an unusual signal - sometimes good, sometimes bad. We decided to dig it and soon I found an old bolt in the hole. thinking that was it, I got up to continue when my son said, "Hey dad, what's this?" and he handed me a coin that was sitting on top of the pile we dug. It took me a moment to realize we had dug an 1808 large cent! Can the 1700's be within reach??? :o
