I was out looking at a few jobs the other day and I had time for a quick one hour hunt in between estimates.
I stopped to hunt an old section of sidewalk and found a coin that has eluded me for over 14 years.

I've been lucky enough to find (34) Half Dollars.
(8) Walking Liberty's and (26) Kennedy's - but not one single Ben Franklin. :BangHead:
Till today - a solid 97 on the Deus.

Good Hunting !

Nice recovery. That is a special find being the first...those are large coins for someone to lose....this could be the ice breaker... congratulations 👍

Awesome!!!!! Congrats!!!! It’s funny I started detecting in 1989, and it wasn’t until last year that I finally found one. Wait, then I ended up with two that year!!!! So hope the same Luck comes Your way too!!!

It seems to me that finding a Franklin half happens much less than finding Walkers. I know they were only minted for 15 years compared to double that for Walkers, but even so, I hardly see them posted. Took me forever to find one, and that's been it, one in 31+ years. Congrats for knocking it off your bucket list!

Congrats. Nice find. I have always suspected coins of that size and value were seriously looked for if dropped by someone, hence the scarcity. My own experiences have solidified that theory.

I always thought that some of the larger coins like the Half Dollars and Dollars could have dropped in the Winter time when and where there's snow on the ground ?

Congrats on your bucket lister E-Trac. I'm in the same boat. I have found 22 Half Dollars - 4 Kennedy's, 15 Walking Libs, and 3 Barbers, but still no Benny. I know I'll walk over one some day soon.
