It's been over two weeks since i got to go detecting and the wait was worth it. I had a lot of fun today but it started out hard, very HARD! Like frozen up solid hard, i almost gave up and went back home but i'm glad i stuck with it. I ended up finding 10 Spencer cartridge's, 9 whole ones. 2 Spencer bullets, 1 Burnside, 1 Pistol, 1 fired bullet, and the tip to a Three ringer. 1 Dandy button, 2 brass links, and an awesome Soldiers Mess-kit spoon! The piece with the "T" shape in it i dont know what that is, so any ideas? It's 1.5" x 1". I also found my second Thimble! The best finds of the day were the coins, a 1898 and 1905 Indian, and a 1939 Wheatie! I cant wait to get back there and see what else turns up. Thanks for looking, and HH!!!

The Cartridge is sitting on top of the glass on the display case so it looks bigger then the Spencer in the case but they are the same size.

Good finds and glad you finally got a chance to get out. Did you find it all next to the house? Gotta wonder why I found 1 lone confederate button mixed with a bunch of Yankee stuff!

Yea, the snow really helped grid that area out so i worked it slow and dug everything. I only got 1/4 way of the field done, by 2 O'clock i was whipped I'm going to be hurting during the Relic Rescue. Maybe the button was a war prize that a Union soldier stole?

You will really enjoy the relic rescue I'm sure. Personally with the div the days go so fast especially if you're finding stuff.

the thing with a t in it is the first scale from a shoulder epulette, the t is where the locking key would go

Great finds man.enjoyed the pics.congrats

Thanks everyone. I always love finding new things and learning what they are. Who knew I would be learning so much doing this hobby!

Very Nice finds!

You really tore it up F2!! I have never dug an epaulette piece of any kind. WTG, Q.

yup, shoulder scale. I've found a few but never with the T shape in it, great looking finds!
