Got out today and put in 4 hours got a couple of wheats 1920, 1925 etc, couple of little treats, ax head, flat bottom 3 ringer (are those post CW?) and a 1901 V Nickel. Happy to have it and good to get out.

Wish I knew the age. I soaking it in rust removal now.

You can soak items like tools in a pail of cider vinegar.
It will eat away at the rust and won't hurt the base metal.
VPNavy has a chart on Axe heads that will identify that axe and it's age.
