I lost 4 miracle berry bushes 5 ft tall, 4 Bougainvillea's, 2 hibiscus, 4 orchids I forgot to bring in because of their location, 2 pineapple plants, and several other tropical plants in the ground and all were covered with blankets.

No gardenias?

No sir, we have a quiet a few plants in yard, roses, Hydrangeas, I have 7 calamundin bushes, small Filipino limes, we use in cooking, marinating meats, in my water, and tea, and we grow lemon grass, and moringa trees for cooking. Freeze killed all my miracle bushes.

We are primarily orchids, have maybe 40 in small orchid garden I built in front.

Some of our Vanda orchids in bloom.... only problem we have is bringing all of them in house during hard

Northern California is about 2 weeks into bloom. Peach trees already bloomed and are leafing out. Apple trees are in full bloom. Last night was 24 degrees F with a skiff of snow : (

Don’t mind the weather at all. In fact I love it. But the zapped fruit blossoms is disappointing. Maybe frozen rain or snow insulated some of the fruit buds. It was a quick short dip below freezing.

That looks like summer time. Our worlds are so different, yet we are all alike when politics and religion is ignored. I think of that quite a bit. I probably would get along just fine with ordinary Russians. They are alike in the same way. Everyone enjoys blossoms and a good cup of coffee early in the morning. Just running my mouth. It’s the leaders that corrupt humanity.

I started my own thread just on our orchids, I felt bad, like I was hijacking Newnan's thread.

Well, it is Florida, and we fertilize orchids every 7-10 days with a bloom buster fertilizer so they bloom very often throughout the year.

I like hearing everyone chime in and show pics! I lost so much to the freeze. My Plumarias are toast and my prized mango trees I think are dead as well. Some palms are slowly starting to recover. Bananas are showing some green so maybe.

Well newnan man our tulips are up. As a rule, when those bloom out and start to wilt, I am safe to plant other flowers. Well this year, I got one of those wildflower mixes and scattered it in the two flower boxes we got, and they're coming up. (mostly bachelor buttons probably) Maybe a longer growing season this year. I will admit after 21 years here in the mountains I have no clue about when to plant what. Where I'm from, in Oklahoma, I'm an expert on planting times. I have the younger people calling me up and asking when to plant this or that, and I tell them this is how we planted, and our parents, or grandparents, great grandparents and on back, the signs you look for. (Pssst, it all really goes to ground temperature, I make up any 'sign' I want, haha!)

WOW TH, that's beautiful brother, if they look that good coming out of a freeze, I would love to see it during the summer.

Unfortunately plants come to my house to die. I try and blame it on cold weather, hot weather, mild weather, no weather, but it comes down to a brown thumb I guess. About the only green in my yard is the grass, I haven't killed it yet no matter how hard I try, it just keeps coming back so I have to mow it.

You have some of the most beautiful flowers ever. I hope your gardens recover. I’m dying to start planting. April 15 is our traditional day of last frost so won’t be long.
