finally some gold

Hey All,

I got to do some detecting at the beach near my house. It has been raining the last week and finally A break in the weather allowed me to cover some real ground. I found a wedding band that registered a +25 on my dfx screen. I thought it was a pull tab but was wrong. Wedding band reads the name of the person, the date, and is stamped 750" I don't know what that means". Hopefully I can track this person down and return it. I also found a cool earing stud that could be a diamond. it has a brilliant luster and refracts allot of light. `i will find out tomorrow if it is real or fake. I was just happy to get out and M-Ding today.

Nice wedding band. I hope you are able to find the owner. I have only been detecting since May and found my 3rd ring today. I really enjoy this hobby and hope to find as many as Bdoo.

750 is the number for 18K.

Nice find!

As someone wrote, that's an 18K ring. To figure it out, simply divide the purity, say 18K by 24K (pure gold) and you get .750 or 75% pure gold.
10K = 417
12K = 500
14K = 583
18K = 750

Yep, 750 - .750 - 18K - 18KT - all the same for 18/24 - 18 parts pure gold (24KT is pure)
