Went to my local bank branch to get a stack of ones for... yard sale change. Yes, that is the ticket.
Anyway, I always ask for halves and dollars there because there is an older local population and I am certain that they bring in old stuff.
So my usual teller says, "Only this roll of dollar coins". He hands me a mint wrapped roll of Jefferson dollars, so I think, hey, maybe I can make 5 bucks on them off of ebay. I ask about halves, and he says, nope, and asks another teller. She says: "12 bucks worth" So she grabs them all, and walks over, and plays with them a bit, and I hear the lovely sound. Jimmy Stewart was wrong. Every time a silver coin clinks in a teller's hand an angel gets his wings.
She counts out the 12 dollars, and angels are getting their wings left and right. (I hope this doesn't mean a bus crashed)
Of the 24, 14 are silver:

This is my first score of silver halves ever, and as my wife and I are moving to another country, I am super happy as I can sell these and get the equivalent of about 2 weeks staple groceries.
Also, I have noticed that some of the 1968s really look like clads. I can imagine people just slipping by them looking only at edges.
