Bit the bullet and got a Minelab Equinox 800 , should have it Friday but the weather here is not the best for a test drive still have frost in most places but the following week looks better and hope to have some news and probably many questions about the machine , LOL . Wish me luck ,:icon_thumright:

Use a preset, don't try to tweak it for a few weeks until you get to know it.

agree with smokey 100%.

Go back to every site you hunted in the past. That's what I am doing and finding great stuff every time. Went out for an hour after work yesterday to the site we hunted for a year with a ACE 400's. I found 2 tombacs, a saddle adornment, two musket balls and a broken gold plated buckle. The place had been hammered. Love my Nox 800

Thanks all for the advise , hoping the weather gets a bit better here and will get out with the new nox next week , been detecting for 48 years have a few spots I need to revisit , LOL

48 years wow I bet you have lots of cool stuff
There is a forum for the box your gonna love it. Good luck post your finds would love to see how it goes. Tommy welcome also

Yep, turn it on and go, just go, get into the particulars as you learn.

You can always retrace your steps later = why make it complex before you get used to swinging it?

Congrats you won’t be disappointed it’s a great machine

Drop recovery speed from factory 3 setting, to 2, with the 11" coil. Leave the rest alone for a while. You are in for FUN!
