Finally went detecting and was given the bird...Tweety bird!

I followed WHADIFIND's sage advice to just go where I was led. I passed several places and ended up at a school I haven't been to in a while.

First signal a 66' nickel, a good sign. Second signal only 4 ft. from the truck, a Tweety pendant, the loop looked like gold, but Tweety was dirt encrusted, it was a solid nickel signal.
I figured GP at best, kept detecting, time was limited. Clad count was lower and trash was higher than normal, but I got out detecting And that was my goal!
Cleaned up Tweety later, what I thought was GP is...(drum roll please!)... 2" long and 5.4g of 10 K gold! . WOO HOO!!!

I'm glad if I helped in any fashion. But, really, it gets quite difficult discerning what HE wants you to do as opposed to what you want. Just keep at it, you'll see that it gets easier to tell.

Looks like you've got batteries sewed up for a spell now!
