Finally found the elusive confederate gardner bullet not only did I find one but found two lol also found my first civil war button but sadly no details.

No problem it's a .58 and it's a short nose variety

I Feel ya Jmccraz8 .
Gardiner bullets have eluded me for many years ; over the past 3-4 I have dug a couple Fired ones but always wanted a nice 'drop' or 2 .
Fast forward to a couple weeks ago & out pop's a sweet drop , then 3 more ,1 is a 54 cal 'I think ' , went back another day & dug another one , I'm thrilled as they are "elusive " in My hunting area as well.

I'd hunt that area more (if u can ) & hope you get a few more, Now a few dropped BIG 69's are on my "Great Gig in the sky list. or " GIS list for short.

Or "blows-through" which is why the soldiers disliked them , ( better the no ammo tho) unless a poorly made round screwed up your Gun.

I'd love to dig a 'Blow-Through' & would feel for the Solider it happened to.
