Relic Hunting
We found these several years back. A short afternoon hunt for us turned into a day we will never forget. Two whole water pots, one bowl, and two other pots and one bowl that came out in pieces but enough left to reconstruct. We've found a lot of pottery over the years but never any complete pieces like these. It was a great day and even better having shared the experience with my Dad!

Cool pottery finds!

Absolutely Cool! What a/o did y'all find them if you don't mind sayin'?

Awesome finds there! I remember very vividly the day I found maybe 1/4 - 1/3 of a pot in very large shards. Most excellent that you got pretty much everything. Beautiful stuff, you have. HH! Yak

Very, Very Nice!!!

Those are awesome. Tell us how you found them.

Super finds and we all know they weren't surface finds:laughing7:

Thanks everyone for your comments. They were found in SC and actually started as a surface finds. I saw the top rims near the waters edge sticking out the ground and thought it was a rusty tire rim. When I bent down to show dad acting like it was pottery, a piece broke off and I realized it was pottery!!!(joke was on me!). We then dug the rest out by hand and carefully carried home. Truly a find of a lifetime for both of us. Thanks again for looking.

Wow! Awesome amazing find . Glad you saved them. Would have been a shame if they washed out and broke up like most have or broke up with a dozer,

Uhhhhh banner find in my book ... I know a muscle diver who found one that size he got 75 k for it ;)

The inscribed pattern on that large one is fantastic...got any closeups of it?

I have a shard from Georgia that looks similar, could be grave goods buried together and upright like that.

That is such a rarity especially in the situation you were thank you so much for sharing that

Very rare find, congrats

Please put them behind glass!

Truly awesome and rare finds! There's lots of pottery around here, so much so, I stopped even picking it up unless the pieces are unique or huge. Thanks for sharing and really cool that you and your dad were able to share the finds and the moment!
