I have had a number points restored over the years, only minor fixes, I don't want to make anything up. Usually no more than ear, or small tip fix. They were done by the best in the business imho.

They are done very well, and I thought it would be interesting to see where some of you thought the fix is. I know some of these have been posted before, no cheating and searching old posts. And if anyone else has one, feel free to post it up for scrutiny.

First up.... a nice side notched Knife River Flint piece.

bottom ear, can see a little fracture

Really nice point, and obviously nice restoration, it passes as unseen to me thru my computer screen. If I had to guess I would say both sides of the upper notch, look a little darker, than others areas of the same thickness, yet still could totally be the nature of the material ?

I never thought about that!! Tony

Here is another really nice little point with a repair.

Lower ear on the first one and upper notch on the second is my GUESS!

This Colorado Agate Basin appears to have three materials in the stone. It too has some restoration.

more pics and no answers?

was hoping for a couple more guesses. I'll dig out the points and tell you all tomorrow. I have to give them the tooth tap test myself to be sure.

The base on this one.

OK, both darker ears on the points, the upper ear on the first , and the lower on the second..... and yes, the base on the agate basin.

how about this guy?

Were yours done by Dr Gomer? He is very very good at what he does. I can't tell where any of those have been restored.

I have this Thebes that he restored for me a few years back. So far, the only piece I have ever had restored. As soon as I found it and saw the material I knew I had to have it fixed and I'm glad I did. The way Dr Gomer matched the material is uncanny. Even in the pic with the light behind it you can't see any difference in the material from the actual Point and the restoration. Well worth the money to have whole again.
